Demand the Media “Tell the Truth!” About Government-Run Health Care

To expose and combat the media’s effort, the Media Research Center has launched a national petition “Demanding The Media ‘Tell The Truth!’ About Government-Run Health Care.” Even though polls indicate 84% of Americans are satisfied with their current health care, Obama is pushing hard to pass his plan before anyone has had time to read or understand it.

Americans deserve the truth. We deserve a media that are committed to honesty and providing the information we need to make informed decisions. The only way to bring about this kind of change is for grassroots Americans to mobilize and demand the media tell the truth!

Ellabell Writer A Hit With Schools

Special to Bryan County Now | Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 12:30 am

Since the publication of her first book, “Ashley’s Unforgettable Summer,” in 2007, Grace Reddick’s life has been a whirlwind. When writing her first book, she did not realize the tremendous impact it would have on people.

“I have always enjoyed writing. I began to journal many years ago, and found it to bring healing for my mind and spirit. It also enables me to seek and express my inner self,” Reddick said.

Reddick has been invited to participate at many school events throughout the local area where she has spoken to hundreds of students about her book. Her granddaughter and inspiration for the book, Ashley, is a teacher at Sand Hill Elementary in Rincon.

Reddick enjoys being given the opportunity to speak at the various schools. She captivates the students with her story about Ashley and her unforgettable and challenging summer. Not only does she participate on various school programs, she also donates books to all the schools and libraries she has been invited to. She wants children to have access to the book, and believes that reading is a vital part of learning.

“I am grateful my book is helping others, and children are reading it,” Reddick said. On Nov. 14, she is scheduled to participate in South Effingham Middle School’s Annual Career Day.

Reddick has received book reviews from as far away as Melbourne, Australia. Book reviews have also come from Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Virginia, California and Utah.

Since becoming a published author, Reddick has joined various writers’ groups. She is a member of the International Society of Poets, a member of the Christian Pen, a member of Authors’ Den, and is also a member of CWTR (Christian Women Take Root). She is proud to be a Ministry Partner of the Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

Reddick is currently working on her second book, “Forsaken Land.” Her second book is also a children’s book. “I hope it will be published the first part of next year,” she said.

“Once my second book is completed, I plan to write on a personal and spiritual level. My deepest desire is to uplift and bring renewed hope to readers who may be experiencing difficult life circumstances.”

Reddick grew up in Savannah, and now lives in Ellabell. You can visit her Web site at

Synopsis Of Upcoming Book

This is a story about a little boy, Logan who wanders away from the safety of his back yard.

He finds himself in a place of no return, or so it seems. As he ventures through the wildreness, the anticipation of the unknown begins to creep in.

He’s startled by echoing sounds that remind him of dinosaurs. But surely that can’t be, or could it?

As the cries become more intense, Logan realizes he must run for his life and seek shelter. He stumbles upon a cave that will shelter both himself and his best friend Sam, a golden

retriever. Logan encounters many obstacles as he tries to escape the dangers that lurk beyond every corner.  How will he be able to

defeat the dinosaur, and find his way back home?  He must devise a plan of survival and escape.

A New Beginning

As you embark on a new year, and a new begininng, what are your aspirations, your visions?   Discover your mission in life. I’m not talking about goal setting. There is nothing wrong with having goals, but a vision is not the same thing.  A vision originates with God. It is a spiritual thing.  It is God’s idea for you.  The vision God gives you will stretch and strengthen you.  Many people do not ever put themselves in situations that force them to stretch their faith, talent, or resources. A rubber band is not effective unless  it’s stretched.  A rubber band has to be stretched in order to fill it’s purpose.

Regardless of your circumstances, with God’s help you will be able to conquer the situation.  How can you be an overcomer, if you’ve never had to overcome anything?  You must look beyond where you are, in order to see where you want to be.

Do not be discouraged and become a quitter.  Don’t let anyone steal your dreams. Many times,  it is the people closest to you who will try to distract you, and try to pull you down. When doubts and difficulties  threaten to rob you of your dreams and visions, hang on and trust God all the way. Keep your focus on Him. He will make a way for your dream to come true.

I began my writing career by journaling when my two daughter’s were young children. I never realized at the time that I would some day become a published author.  I was a Christian, but I did not understand the intimate walk with God until much later in my life.  As the circumstances of my life began to unfold, so did the hearbreak and broken dreams.  I truly understand what it means to feel as though you are all alone, and that no one really cares.  My faith in Jesus Christ has sustained, and fulfiled me.

Through the years as my situation continued, my spiritual life became stronger.  My desire is to glorify Him in all I do.  And as I near the end of this journey, I have contentment knowing I will soon start another chapter in my life.

In Christian Love,

Grace
